This year marks the 50th Anniversary of The 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. It is also the 150th Anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. To celebrate this historic moment in time, we have planned a series of commemorative events to take place in our nation’s capital from August 22nd – 26th, 2013. The current schedule is as follows:
As with the 1963 March, there is a relevant cause of addressing poverty, unemployment and the wealth gap in America today. To address these issues, the SCLC have formed the SCLC Poverty Institute Foundation — an educational based non-profit organization.
Donors receive the following perks for supporting this cause. Perks include: Commemorative mp3 | March (Book One) Graphic Novel by Congressman John Lewis, Andrew Aydin & Nate Powel | Kingonomics Book by Dr. Rodney Sampson | “I Have A Dream”: A 50th Year Testament To The March That Changed America, Photos by Bob Adelman (eDNA Press | Pearson).
